I do mostly backend dev, plus Ops. Tools no bar as long as it solves problem. Nothing brings me more joy than visiting a new place or doing something new or breaking a fear. I also like to help people find new places/things to explore. If you are in a community that values that, sign me up. Outside work, I’d be more interested if someone talked about their passions, hobbies, interests, dreams instead of the latest tech.

Where Do I See Myself in 10 Years?

Incident 1 (I’m in college, 1st year):

The head of the dept. walks into our class, and throws us a question, “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?”. Honestly, I took that question a bit seriously, and that was the first time I realized that I didn’t know what I should be in future. I didn’t start as a developer then. Didn’t even know I’m going to be what I am today. I was asked “What is your aim in life?” several times in my college days, I remember clearly that I answered differently every single time.

How to Reach PyCon India 2012

I had a quick visit to the venue today. As I’m volunteering this time, will be visiting tomorrow too, to help set up everything including the directions. So I thought, it’s better if I just let you know of the location of the venue.

The Zen of Python

These are the guiding principles of Python, but are open to interpretation. A sense of humor is required for their proper interpretation.

Beautiful is better than ugly.
Explicit is better than implicit.
Simple is better than complex.
Complex is better than complicated.
Flat is better than nested.
Sparse is better than dense.
Readability counts.
Special cases aren't special enough to break the rules.
Although practicality beats purity.
Errors should never pass silently.
Unless explicitly silenced.
In the face of ambiguity, refuse the temptation to guess.
There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it.
Although that way may not be obvious at first unless you're Dutch.
Now is better than never.
Although never is often better than *right* now.
If the implementation is hard to explain, it's a bad idea.
If the implementation is easy to explain, it may be a good idea.
Namespaces are one honking great idea -- let's do more of those!

Easter Egg: Try - import this
