  • I’ve been here before I’ll be back for more Maybe this time I can stay Forever more, forever more

Wonder what the future brings Fortune tellers and time machines I predict what they’ll predict for me That I keep coming back to you.

  • I’ve been working on Tornado for last few days and I really needed a shell access to the local virtual environment of my Tornado app so that I can test few things out. Exactly like Django has ./manage.py shell. But as we all know Tornado lacks a good documentation. Most of the things except the use of the native classes, require a lot of trial and error(at least for me, I’m not so bright). So I looked around and found how Flask has a way of having an interactive shell access to the environment. And I just replicated it.

  • I’d have really regretted if I hadn’t come home for the Bengali New Year. This is one of those days when you get to see Bongs showing off their Bong-ness. I mean if you visit the City Center you’ll see that they have stalls and frying fish in bengali recipes. Girls and Ladies are wearing Sharees, guys are wearing Panjabi. Singing and playing Bengali songs loudly in every locality. People would behave more lethargic than Ever. So on and so forth ..

  • From 20,000 feet above ground, when you look down, you can actually see and feel how insignificantly small we are compared to this vast planet. We’re like ants on the ground. Trying to survive, trying to ignore this fact.

  • Got tired of wordpress and PHP. So moving my site to Github pages.

  • Incident 1 (I’m in college, 1st year):

The head of the dept. walks into our class, and throws us a question, “Where do you see yourself in 10 years?”. Honestly, I took that question a bit seriously, and that was the first time I realized that I didn’t know what I should be in future. I didn’t start as a developer then. Didn’t even know I’m going to be what I am today. I was asked “What is your aim in life?” several times in my college days, I remember clearly that I answered differently every single time.

  • I had a quick visit to the venue today. As I’m volunteering this time, will be visiting tomorrow too, to help set up everything including the directions. So I thought, it’s better if I just let you know of the location of the venue.

It’s just beside Christ College bus stoppage. For those who don’t know, here is the general location of the Christ college stoppage and the venue -

  • The way to bypass the t.co url is only for Twitter Web users. If you're not using it, If you're using an app, it wont help you.
Since the very moment twitter introduced the automatic link shortening of all the links posted with it's own t.co shortener, it bothered me. Why? Let me explain.
  • These are the guiding principles of Python, but are open to interpretation. A sense of humor is required for their proper interpretation.

    Beautiful is better than ugly.
    Explicit is better than implicit.
    Simple is better than complex.
    Complex is better than complicated.
    Flat is better than nested.
    Sparse is better than dense.
    Readability counts.
Special cases aren't special enough to break the rules.
    Although practicality beats purity.
    Errors should never pass silently.
    Unless explicitly silenced.
In the face of ambiguity, refuse the temptation to guess.
There should be one-- and preferably only one --obvious way to do it.
Although that way may not be obvious at first unless you're Dutch.
    Now is better than never.
Although never is often better than *right* now.
If the implementation is hard to explain, it's a bad idea.
If the implementation is easy to explain, it may be a good idea.
Namespaces are one honking great idea -- let's do more of those!
