I got an opportunity to join a group trip to Bandipur forest stay organized by Deepa Mohan and took it on a whim. I bought a new 200-500 mm lens just around that time. It was a good opportunity to test it.
The pickup time was around 6AM and luck wasn’t with me to book a cab. So I walked to the nearest Yulu spot and took a Yulu for pickup. Ananth gave me a tide to and from Bandipur all the way. The morning felt crisp and full of anticipation.
We stayed in HSR Layout, Bangalore for 2.5 years until recently. For the final 6 months or so, everyday evening after 6:30-7, after it was dark, I used to hear this bird’s call. It used to fly by our house why making this loud call, a call I’ve never heard in life, and I couldn’t see it of course in the dark. So even if I wanted to know what bird it is, I couldn’t. And it used to bother me everyday.
I got a 50-230mm lens for my Fuji X-T100 few days back. Right before we went on our first road trip in the new car. So I thought I’ll make some good use of the lens and capture some birds. Till now even if I saw a bird, I’d never be able to know what it is because I couldn’t take a photo of them as they’re usually very far away, and also I wouldn’t even remember that I saw them by the time I get to home. Not anymore.. So here are some of the different species of birds we saw during our 4 day long road trip (a blog post about it is coming soon).
This post is to the most exciting two days I had in years. Kudos to Yahoo! for screwing the first half and Kudos to the hackers to rock the whole time. :)
I’ve been added to the KWS Facebook group for sometime. And being an amateur(read nOOb) photographer, I always wanted to meet others who are just like me or more expert and learn from them. Hence a photowalk was always welcome to me. So when I learned that KWS is going to hold a photowalk at West Bengal State Handicraft Expo 2011 at Milan Mela ground, I really wanted to join and started poking Kuntal for his secondary camera(Nikon Coolpix P90) for a day as I don’t have a camera myself. Well, luckily Kuntal managed it somehow and on that day, we went to the venue together.
